LISS panel > Mixed Mode Experiment | This study is divided into three parts and combines mixed-mode experiments with other experiments that were incorporated in the questionnaires. In Mixed Mode 1, the results of telephone interviews (CATI) are compared to those of an Internet questionnaire (CAWI). Mixed Mode 2 also consisted of CATI and CAWI versions, but only the internet survey can, for the moment, be disseminated. Mixed Mode 3 is a repeated measure of the internet version of Mixed Mode 1. |
LISS panel > Mixed Mode Experiment > Mixed Mode 1 - CATI | In February 2009, the LISS panel completed a questionnaire about biomedical research. This measure concerns the part of the survey conducted by telephone. This survey serves two purposes. On the one hand, it is a mixed-mode experiment, in which the results of telephone interviews (CATI) are compared to those of an Internet questionnaire. In addition, three experiments have been incorporated in the questionnaire. The first questionnaire concerns the effect of the order in which response options are presented, from low to high or vice versa. The second experiment investigates the effect of whether or not response categories are folded out. Finally, experiment 3 aims to inventory to what extent offering a ‘don’t know’ option affects the answers given. For this part of the research, 2000 panel members were selected, of which 1207 completed the telephone interview (response percentage 60.3%). |
LISS panel > Mixed Mode Experiment > Mixed Mode 1 - CAWI | In February 2009, the LISS panel completed a questionnaire about medical scientific research. This measure concerns the part of the survey conducted via internet. This survey serves two purposes. On the one hand, it is a mixed-mode experiment in which the results of telephone interviews (CATI) are compared to those of an Internet questionnaire. The questionnaire was presented to 6134 panel members, of which 4003 completed the questionnaire (response percentage 65.3%). |
LISS panel > Mixed Mode Experiment > Mixed Mode 3 - CAWI | This study is a repeated measure of the internet version of Mixed Mode I, containing five questions from Wave I. The study focuses on the question if and with what frequency views on sensitive societal issues change. |
